Congratulations to Year 13 – the class of 2023

The staff and governors of Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School and the directors and CSEL/CEO of the St Teresa of Calcutta MAC would like to congratulate all of our Year 13 students who received their A Level, BTEC and OCR National results today.

We are so proud of them all. As well as being a lovely year group, they put in an incredible amount of work into their studies. It is easy to forget that this is the cohort that did not sit their GCSEs due to COVID 19, and therefore this was their first experience of public examinations since they were in Year 6 in 2016!

Below are just some of their achievements:

• In Maths, 67% of the cohort achieved A*-B;

• Students achieved A*s in Mathematics and Product Design;

• 25% of grades in Geography and Biology were at grade A;

• Shelley achieved A*AAA and will study Architecture at the University of Bath;

• Ben achieved A*AAB and will study Mathematics and Physics at University of Warwick.

Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham and Aberystwyth will be other destinations that the class of 2023 will be living and studying in by October 2023.

These grades are a testament to the students’ hard work and resilience.

We offer huge congratulations to the class of 2023. We thank parents and families for all their support and we also thank you also to their dedicated teachers for their expertise and efforts.
